Vincenzo Nibali joins Everesting as Ambassador

Vincenzo Nibali, one of the most accomplished riders of his generation, has officially joined Everesting as ambassador of its global events, marking a new chapter for the endurance challenge that continues to attract athletes from across the world.

Winner of two Giro d’Italia titles and the Tour de France, Nibali built his career on climbing, and tactical intelligence, qualities that align closely with the essence of Everesting. Known as “The Shark of Messina”, his connection to demanding terrain and long efforts makes his involvement a natural fit for a discipline where performance is measured not only in speed, but in the ability to endure repetition and fatigue.

Nibali will also take on the challenge firsthand, lining up at the Everesting event on 26th September 2026 on the slopes of Mount Etna, Sicily. The race will bring riders to one of Europe’s most iconic and demanding landscapes, where the objective remains unchanged: accumulate 8,848 meters of elevation by repeating the same climb.

The Etna course, already tested during previous editions and international competitions, combines long ascents, exposed sections and a terrain shaped by volcanic rock. Riders will face hours in the saddle, managing effort, pacing and recovery across repeated climbs that gradually shift from manageable to relentless.

For Nibali, it is not about adding another title to his career, but about stepping into a different kind of effort. And like every Everesting attempt, the outcome will be decided over hours of climbing, where the real question is how long you can keep going.
